Mexican artist Fernando Corona, known internationally as Murcof, will present his audiovisual project, The Etna Sessions, at the Church of the Incarnation. This work combines experimental electronic music, field recordings, and reimagined visuals based on images captured on Mount Etna (Sicily).

The performance is based on the original project, Etna, a Portrait, created with videographer Manu Ros, which documented the intensity of the volcanic landscape. For this live version, the original images were reworked using classic and contemporary editing techniques, combining analog video effects and AI augmentation processes to create a new visual narrative.

Sound-wise, The Etna Sessions combines drone, ambient, dub, and minimalist techno, constructed from field recordings and expanded with modular synthesizers and digital processing. The result is an immersive experience projected in a 9:16 format, where sound and image interact in real time. Murcof transforms the landscape into a living organism, a territory that breathes and transforms between frequencies and textures.

An undisputed leader of contemporary electronic music, Murcof has collaborated with artists such as Erik Truffaz and Vanessa Wagner, and his work, deeply influenced by classical music and minimalism, has redefined the boundaries between the acoustic and the digital. In this session, he invites us on an introspective journey where nature, technology, and emotion merge into a single pulse.
